Don't turn so sharp
. Are you running stock wheels and stock size tires? If you are and it rubs, it probably OK. I've seen quite a few third-gens that rub the tires a bit turning sharp. Usually doesn't hurt the tires. Also, different tire brands vary in actual height and width of the advertised same size tire.

Surely there's a way to stop it though, it's really annoying, and yes it's on stock rims/wheels.
I just can't see actually buying a car new that rubbed like this.

Brand new, it may or may not have rubbed. But it was probably really close to rubbing if it didn't rub. Over the years, suspension parts wear, minor curb checks happen, minor/major car wrecks, alignments and realignments, weak springs. The actual cause could be a number of things. If it's really a problem, take it to a front end mechanic and have the front suspension checked out and an alignment done. And yes, a tire size that is slightly bigger than it's supposed to be can cause this. You would be amazed in the difference in tire size from brand to brand. What size tires are you using?

If it's only on the drivers side wouldn't the problem be from worn parts than tire size? Another guess for me it not parts maybe the wheel stop is a little bent in on one side.

Turning left the drivers side tire rubs--that is usually where they rub. I don't know exactly why though--but I've seen alot of them do it--even brand new back in the day when third-gens were new. As far as tire size, we would put a set on a thirdgen and they would come back in a day or two telling us the tire rubs and didn't before. Explaining to a customer that the new tires are wider than the old ones--but are the same 'size' is fun.

One other thing I forgot to mention is that it pulls to the right a bit. I just got these tires the other day and they seem to rub worse than the old ones, probably cause the old ones were going bald. It really bugs me and I wish I could fix it. Oh yeah, and the plastic inner wheel well thing is develop a hole due to this. Again, I appreciate all the help.

I've seen the screws give way (break or wear thru the hole) and let the inner fender well get closer to the tire than normal.

Did you get charged for an alignment???
Where I work we give you a print out of before and after when a car is aligned. It prints out in easy to understand graphs using colors (green for in spec / Red for outta spec).
You should have some idea if an align was done.
If the place that put your tires on knows what they're doing they should have checked your front end for worn/loose parts.

Well, ya. It's down on the paper as being done, I'm just saying I didn't stand there and watch them. All though they didn't do anything as cool as what you described with the print out. It rubbed before I got the new tires like I said above. I had to get them easter weekend due to some procrastination and the only place open was Sam's so that's where i gottem, I don't know how good they are bout telling you that kinda stuff.

Back when I had 245/60's mine used to rub--but not on the plastic piece. See if you can move that plastic out of the way if that is what it's hitting. If you're not sure how to move it out of the way, take it to a shop and explain the problem. If Sams aligned your car and it pulled right after you got it, take it back Sams and complain.
