Help with Caliper...

Anyone know any possible reasons that there would be a brake fluid leak where the rubber tube enters the caliper on the left driver side? I just reinstalled a new hose and a new caliper, but it leaks from the bolt. Any help appriciated, Thanks.

Did you install the 2 copper O rings onto each side of the new hose? The bolt goes thru them... that's the seal. You should have received 2 new ones with the caliper.

I couldn't find any torque specs for it, just try snuging them up some more. If the washers and hose and caliper are new it shouldn't leak. How bad is the leak. Did you install each hose on the correct side, I don't know if this is possible or if it would even cause a leak, just a guess

Its leaking, but only when u press the break. A steady stream with the brake pressed all the way down. I replaced the brake line running from the master cylinder to the rubber hose, replaced the rubber hose, replaced the caliper, replaced the pads, replaced the copper O rings, twice.... Torqued down the other bolt, harder, and it broke.... Bought a new bolt, torqued that down and it still leaks. I didn't cross thread the caliper, checked that. Just leaks when u press the brake. Not a clue, but if anyone else knows. Please, Thanks for the help

It's possible that the new caliper is bad. Is the caliper new or rebuilt? If it's rebuilt the threads may have been damaged when they cleaned the caliper. I just did my brakes and it took 3 calipers to get one for the left side that didn't leak.

Then thats probally it. I have tried everything... redo all hoses and washer.... over 2x. I didn't retry the caliper, but now that i think about it, it is a "Remanufactored Caliper." I knew the price was too good on that... $9.99 w/ a $13.95 core. I'll never go remanufactored again lol

I used to work for a company that rebuilt calipers. I saw things done there that would make you never want to buy a rebuilt caliper. Re using old seals because they didn't have the correct new ones. ALL caliper were to be pressure tested with air, but if they were behind on the count for the day only a few would get tested, and the air hose had a rubber tip that was put in the line hole right where you are leaking.
