Who's gotten the L03 into the 14's

My goal is to have a 14 car for the camaro/firefird gathering at the corvette museum in late september.

At last years event I ran a 15.89 @ 86.71 mph

I had:
-5 speed
-3.08 with a junk posi
-Stage II jet chip
-Functional cowl & K&N
-Flowmaster catback

I recently got 3.42's and a new posi. Next I plan on new heads (and intake) either L31 or S/R Torquer 305 heads and 1.6 rockers. While I've got the top end apart I'm going to cash in on the ultimate tbi mods and afpr. Depending on the money situation, I'll most likely end up with headers too.

Am I going to get there, or do I have a little more work ahead of me. Regardless, the mods I listed I still have the goal of completing by the gathering, so I need everyone to keep on me to finish up.

Speaking of the gathering, there needs to be a better show of third gens this year, for more information check the corvette museum web site and click on the camaro/firebird link.

I would also look into a cam. You get a good 25hp with a nice cam and a nice full exhaust system. I hope a full swap like this will get u into 13's.
I'm going to cash in on the ultimate tbi mods and afpr
E-mail this guy Camaroracer1992@yahoo.com Send him ur throttle body and he will do all of that add and injector spacer and do the afpr mod for 40 bucks. I loved what he did with mine and I can't wait to see the number differences. He has AIM too. Camaroracer1992

I would do the ultimate tbi mods, and other misc. stuff before u do the big stuff like cam and heads. That way u know when u start ur car up, it will be able to support those new mods and get the full potential out of them.

either heads will work for ya. th eultimate mods will help a lot too. your big issue is gonna be traction off the line. a stick can be a tricky thing and findign a balance between bog and spin is a little different in every car. i woudl suggest putting a little effort into getting control arm relo brackets, boxing your stock arms, and doing a battery relo to the hatch(the spare tire wel is always a nice spot.)
with a littel bit of tunign you can find the power to go into the 14's, with a little traction you can actually do it.

Cool, it looks like I'm going to get more for my buck than I was expecting. Thanks for the info and suggestions.

Send him ur throttle body and he will do all of that add and injector spacer and do the afpr mod for 40 bucks.
Sounds like a good deal. I might go get a TB from a junk yard this weekend and send it to him. That beats doing the work and paying $40 for an aftermarket afpr.

I think im gonna send him my TB when i get paid in two weeks. What can i expect from this? More throttle response, HP? Only thing i got is no exhaust after cat so i know it flows out a little better.

With my setup I am hoping for mid to low 13s.
Ported World s/r torquers
zz4 cam
Edelbrock TBI intake
Stock TBI ultimate TBI mods 350 injector
T56 swap 4.10 gears (maybe)
Ed Write Custom Chip
I already have headers, catback and nitrous kit. Should have this setup up and running by the middle of May.

wow.. this guy really doesn't seem to have a lot of mods to the engine. I don't see any heads or anything in there. I know I don't want to put those large slicks on the rear just to run 13's. That really doesn't mean **** because you need to be running 13's street driven. None of this, "yeah, I put huge slicks with low pressure tires and removed my front swaybar..etc.. just to get 13's"

i drive my car on the street. i haven't had a front sway in a few years. remeber one thing, what defines a "street" car when it comes to performance is completely up to what the owner is willing to have or not have in teh car inteh name of going fast.
tires are traction, if you wanna go really fast, they are just a part of the game.

yeah its true i didnt do alot of internal engine mods to my car. i did more suspension and tuning to it than a cam heads etc. it ran a 13.18 with a 125 host of NOS and it would run a 15.1 without it. granted for a daily driver NOS may not be the best, but my car still pulled 1.9 60's without it and 1.7's with it on a stock torque convertor. i would agree with many of NJSPEEDER's posts by working on the free stuff first and suspension mods for the car. you'll gain more in the long run trust me he and i have done this alot. he was the first to break into 14's and i was the first to break into deep 13's, but i wish i would have done a few more things to claim a 12 second 305 tbi but i have since moved on to a 500 horse 355 with a cheater NOS kit with up to a 250 shot. ask me any questons via email or AOL IM.oh and by the way NJSPEEDER will be the first to hit a 12 second time slip on a 305 TBI, and also he'l be there to kick peoples tail ends with TPI's and all who talk trash about the 305 TBI!!!!!
