WOT problems

when i get to WOT sometimes the car slips into neutral. it sucks because when i am passing somebody i get about next to them and then the car goes in to neutral or something and i have to let off the gas a little to get it back into gear. what could cause this? also, i doubt if this has anything to do with it but when i park the car on a hill i have to use the emerg. brake because the car will roll other wise and there is a clicking noise while it is rolling. im sure this is something easy to fix, i just need some ideas on whats going on.

I'm waving goodbye to that tranny...

parking gear is gone... 3rd gear valve is stuck or gone... hence the dropping to neutral... I can't imagine what else would go along with those busts... rings.. bands... clutch packs... ughhh its just making me ill thinking about all the parts that can bust in an auto tranny...

if it was the tv cable, it wouldn't shift fine... you'd either have early or late shifts totally not meshing with the position of the pedal...

Raise the car up and check where the shifter cable meets the gear selection bracket on the transmission , it is between gears thats way it wont stay in park . Something may have hit it bending either the cable or the bracket.

Can somebody explain to me how this is TBI related. Else moderators, move it to the tranny board.
I'd say you've got some problems if it's slipping into neutral. Double check the tranny fluid level and the gear selector cable.

readjustment of the shifter linkage should fix the problem. I dont think the trans is toast.
