you shouldn't have to do anything to the timing for just installing the duel snorkel housing.

Oh man don't tell me you decided to get the dual snorkle air cleaner instead of the headers!

Car: currently thirdgenless!!!
Jesse,

Do you still have a.i.r. stuff still on you car. I took the diverter valve off temporarily until emissions next month. The passenger side snorkel will not sit right with the valve still on. When I put it back on I am going to try to take a 1/2 inch out the middle of the pipe that comes out of the air pump and weld it back together. I hope this will give me enough clearance for the passenger side snorkel and not lower the valve too much. If it is too low I think it will hit the manifold.

Bill

I kept the AIR stuff on. I couldnt get the snorkel to go over it so I went around it (more towards the middle of the car) and then cut the snorkle to only 3 inches in length, and then put 3 inch pipe on that. I was able to bend it to the passenger side around everything and put it behind the high beam light, and then I tied it off in a few places with twist ties.
I have the 3inch pipe rubbing against the AIR stuff. there was JUST enough room to make it fit without hitting the belts at the front of the engine.

I bet a dual snorkle would fit easily on my car....since i have no emmissions crap on that side and the AC compressor dissapeared . Im really thinking about looking into the ram air box from www.ramairbox.com ...so i can still use my open element but have a ram air effect. Good luck with the header install...its gonna be rough since you have all the emmissions and AC left.

you should do the dual snorkel. It will be really easy for you and look really good.
I can definately notice a difference from about 3500-4800rpm. As soon as I picked up my friend and floored it the first time, he too could feel the difference in the higher rpm's!
I dont have AC so will headers be a little easier to install? Im going to have the same guy that did my cam install them so it doesnt really matter for me but I was wondering if it will be easier for him.
thanks, Jesse

Where are you getting the headers from? I'm planning on doing them this week and wondering what prices you've come across...

I called Youngs Automotive in Port Colborne. They want 315 for headman. Around 900 for Dynomax(i think they said dynomax). and 1400 for hooker's which are stainless steel. I also called Automotive wearhouse but there prices weren't as good.

could you not order from summit or jegs? I know your in canada (right?). even after shipping you could get hedmans for less than 200$ US. Dont pay to have them installed it isnt that hard. If you dont have AC it will be much easier.

I already ordered them for 315 canadian or I would have looked at them there.
one question, when I got my exhaust done, they said they put 3inch exhaust from the engine back, including the pipes that goto the engine. Does that mean I dont need the Y pipe when I get the headers??
