when driving it should be between the 0 and 220 mark, or 160, and when idling for a while it should reach just above 220 and slowly cool back down to just above 160 once driving again.

so what are u sayin its supposed to read 90 to 112 ohms. once again there are two censors. one for the guage in your dash the reads engine temp. and another that send a value to the computer. i need to know that value. i'm assuming its open when the vehicle is cold and reads ground when its warm. anyway the problem that i'm having is it wont start when warm, cranks just fine, but smell gasy. the only way to get it to start is if i unhook the injectors and crank it over. yes that means its flooded for u folks from illinois.

and it runs around 120 when cruising down the interstate. but if i let it idle in the driveway it creaps around 220to230 and the fan kicks in and brings it down to about 180degrees

better yet on the intake of your car where the coolant temperature sensor is, yes the one with the black and yellow wires. that means two wires one black whick goes to ground, thru you computer and yellow that send a signal to the computer. go start you car let it get nice and warm, take a multimeter and read between the black and yellow wire in resistance mode. and write back to me the value u read. this would help me alot

well if you wanted ohms readings why didnt you say so dumb a++
go to alldata to see if you can get the reference chart , i just usually use a scan tool to see the engine temp because its readind the cts for the ecm, not the gauge buttface
