What should I expect to be charged to have a garage do the cam, heads, and intake swap? I got a quote of $500 to $600..does that sound reasonable?

That sounds real good for the amount of work, but why not just save yourself the money and do it yourself?

That sounds pretty reasonable to me.

A shop I asked told me R&R the heads is 13.5 hours labor. I would still do it my self though.

A Place? What's a place? Mine is tore down in the yard! I'm like the Post Office - I work in rain, snow, sleet, hail, dark of night! Took me 8 hours to get my heads off a '90 RS by myself. Assuming twice that to get it all put back together, that's a long weekend. I'm doing a little more than heads, intake, cam, so I'll be a few weeks. But an extension cord and a light makes ANY place a PLACE!

I guess I'm old school, and no one else likes crawling in the dirt anymore LOL.

your not the only one who does that. I got a GTA in my back yard being worked on, a camaro in my driveway apart, and my firebrid i work on everyday cause i cant get it tuned right. And to add my garage isnt for cars anymore.

I wouldn't go to a garage, its cheaper, easy to do yourself, plus you have people on here that have done and can give advice plus a ton of info in the archives. HELL, i wrote instructions a few months ago. They are in this board, a lt1 post by 91fbrd305.

Ok ok I think I will do it myself.. My buddy who does this stuff for a living is going to help me so it shouldn't be that bad. Does anybody have any dyno results from this swap?
