I'm only asking here because I want an honest answer

I know we're not supposed to post stuff like this outside of the theoretical/street racing forum but I want the opinion of people that actually know TBI

There is this girl in a a new honda that I hate and she loves to race. She disconnects her air intake and tells people she has a custom intake. She also supposedly doesn't know how to shift and misses third.

I have a 91 RS L03 Auto with open element and plug wires. Whoopdifriggendoo. Would I take her?

I was wondering if a box of magazines in the right side of the cargo area would do any good as far as traction.

What kind of honda does she have (year, make, model, mods)?
I'm tryin to save u from major embarrasment. Gettin beat by a **** burner is no fun, and with what youve listed, youve got no more than 180 hp (generous).

just click on 'add to cart'

that should seal the deal for you unless she is REALLY modded.

dont race your stock 305 against anything newer than 95. anything. i dont think there has been a car made with a lower power to weight ratio since then.

I've messed with a couple of hondas on the road.... recently i ran a black one (dont know anything about it) with ground effects and a shiny exhaust tip (car looked really sharp) from about a 40-50 mph roll... he was on the floor trying to pass me, so i let him get next to me and i punched it.... we went to about 90 when i let off. i was a good ways ahead of him, but he gave me a decent fight

oh, i got the ***** fly-by once i started slowing down too

also, i was talking to a guy at work today... just bsing and talking about a car show that the ricers over ran down here, and i made a comment about those cars couldnt catch me, so i have mothing to worry about... he asked what kind of car i have. i told him it was a 92 camaro. next thing he said, "what size engine?" me, "305"

he then did this --> and said "that's all??"

Im like, "ya, its not stock though..."

so he sorta walked off making me feel like my car is useless
this was one of the only times ive even tried to brag about my car too... the 305 gets no respect

but I can still dance around the ricers :lala: :lala:

I think you should win... but if it starts going bad, and she takes the lead, then just stop accelerating and play it off like you dont need to race because you already know your car is faster than hers

**** burners always talk all that technical crap. The next time you talk to them tell them the "HP/liter" ratio of your engine. Then tell them the Weight/HP ratio. They'll think they have a serious chance of winning because they don't have any idea what torque is.

My car weighs ~3400 lbs. My wife's 1993 Mazda MX6 weighs ~2700 lbs.

My car has a 305 (5.0L) automatic trans. Her car has a 2.5L v6 with a 5 spd.

My car is rated at 170 HP. Hers is rated at 164 HP.

So my car's HP/Liter is 34/1. Hers is 65.6/1

My car's Weight/HP ratio is 20lbs/1HP. Hers is 16.46lbs/1HP.

Who would you put your money on?

We both took our cars to the dragstrip. Three years ago, when mine was totally stock (i.e. no K&N, no Dynomax, not even new shocks), I ran a best time of 16.98 ET with 148K miles on the odo.

We recently went to the strip and the best her car could run was a 16.83 with 168K miles on the odo. Her car has lighter (Enkei) wheels and it's a 5 spd.

That was with NO tire spin off the line from either car. I wish I could remember the trap speeds. IIRC correctly, we were both ~81 MPH.

Granted, her car is quicker, but in a street race, it would be nearly impossible to tell by the naked eye.

Now that I've done stuff to my car, I dropped my ET down to 16.53. We haven't done anything to her car other than what I mentioned. My 16.5 and her 16.8 were both run on the same day so it was a back to back comparison.

I may do some things to her car like a cat-back, K&N cold air kit, and maybe a little juice.

I figure it this way. Why not have fun messing with BOTH types of cars? :lala:

Anyway, if she has anything other than a Civic, be cautious about opening your mouth. Just nod your head and act interested.

Not to ruin this thread or anything, but an MX-6 V6/Probe GT 5-speed should be running high 15s WORST CASE. Mid 15s is more common (high 80s or ~90mph trap speeds). Low 15s is easy to obtain with the standard bolt-ons. I hate those cars, and I don't want to defend them, but your times are WAAAAAAY off what the car should be doing. So I question your driving or the mechanical condition of the car. And don't bring up the mileage...

lol

hey dude

i get that crap all the time here too. anyhow just put about 1/4 tank of gas in the car and go for it. try playing around with some weight in the back of the car to keep from spinning. Just hope that she drops her rpm's down on the launch and you will nail her out of the hole with the auto's killer first gear. you should be fine.

My car stock with a gutted cat k/n in the stock housing. i ran a
10.51 @ 67 mph in the 1/8 mile with a 2.10 60ft. not too bad for stock!

any how for the guy with a MX-6/Probe.

my mom has a probe GT 2.5L 5sp the mods it has is a k/n filter and borla cat back exhaust and it can only run high 9's low 10's in the 1/8 mile. i raced it once at the track and it ran like a 9.95 i for get the mph but i won the v-6 import class with. SHH don't tell mom i raced her car i might get a beating

so it's not even a second faster than my maro and the maro has a 305 and it's a turd

I could care less what you question. I don't believe my post was aimed toward you. AND I don't believe I ever said I was driving, did I? I didn't think so.

What part of that didn't you understand? Or is it because you're a male chauvinist and think because she's a woman, she didn't or can't drive at the dragstip?

And what if I did bring up the mileage. You're saying that has no effect? That could be considered "mechanical condition", don't ya think?

Next time you're gonna shove your foot in your mouth, open your mouth first. It doesn't make you look quite as dumb.

Your post was very vague, so I was left to "decode" your real meaning.

Your quote of yourself isn't any clearer the 2nd time. Apparently, in You-Speak, there was an implied [at the same time] at the end of that sentence. Well, I read it as [on separate occasions]. No need to get all bent out of shape about it. And excuse me for being potentially out of line, BUT, I suspect the reason you were so damn vague about it is so you wouldn't have to include that your wife was driving the MX-6 to that slow time. That's my guess. Otherwise, why not mention that she drove? Irrelevant? Doesn't matter - either someone's driving was to blame (lazy launch, lazy shifting, etc) or the car was seriously hurting - and it shouldn't be at those miles. Power shouldn't fall off like that with mileage. My car has 175k and it's every bit as fast as it was when it was new (maybe faster).

Next time you're gonna shove your foot in your mouth, open your mouth first. It doesn't make you look quite as dumb.
The only reason I butted in at all was because you kind of prance around here acting like Mister Resource. That would be fine, but I've seen you post some pretty outlandish things (as well as some admittedly accurate things) and I couldn't let this one go.
So while I believe your wife's car ran exactly what you say it did, I don't think you should be using it in an example of an L03 F-Body's not-that-slowness. We certainly don't want to be unrealistic, and a dose of realism is exactly what this forum needs, if I may say so.
