I've never seen an L03 get into the 13's with bolt-ons... and I probably never will. Easiest "bolt-on" and 13's with a stock motor is a 125hp shot of nitrous. No amount of bolt-ons will make the engine faster... don't take this the wrong way but it's kind of like those ricers. They start with an engine that was ment for economy and after bolt-ons they're left with a motor that doesn't know what it should do. It no longer gets good milage and it still is slow! In defense of doing bolt-ons to a stock L03 is cost and potential. Once the L03 quits, the bolt-ons will work nicely with any other small block that is put in it's place... hopefully not another L03

Hey Nick: Since those 65# injectors were such a horrible idea (per your sig) can I buy them you? PM me.
As for the topic at hand, as long as that broomstick that they call a cam is in your motor, you will most likely be limited to mid-low 14's off the juice, but on it, you can most certainly hit the 13's.
But 14's are still kind of fun and will hand most ricers their ***, however, the new ones coming out tend to be mid 14 second cars off the floor, so pick your fights wisely and don't talk a lot of ****.
But hey, atleast they don't look as good as we do.

Hey welcome aboard. You will find that bolt ons will wake your car up but only take it so far. The LO3 has much worse problems than just a restrivtinve exhaust and intake. Check out the stcky at the top of the page and you should have a good idea of what makes a TBI car tick.

Actually I saw two L03's break 13's N/A last summer just not with tbi they had carbs. I actually talked to both of them and after they told me everything they had to do to get them into the 13's thats when I decided to ditch my lo3 and go with the lo5, now im ditching the l05 but thats a different story. Oh and the casting numbers on your engine should be on the back of the block behind the intake manifold by the drivers side head its hard to see but its there. If I were you I would definetly check. The guy I bought my car from was a mechanic and he told me the same thing and I found out it was an l03 a week later. Didnt matter becuase I ditched it and got a 350 anyway but it would have been easier if I started with one. Good Luck.

Well I had to remove my spark plug wires and move my coil and throttle bracket out of the way but thats nothing really, just be sure to hook everything back up where it belongs and label the spark plug wires if you dont know where they go off the top of your head. After that just get in there close with a flash light and you should be able to see it. If you dont want to do it just have them check it when you have it in the shop. Another way you could check is by taking on of your valve covers off and getting your head casting numbers. Chances are if you have 305 heads you probably have a 305. Good Luck.

No Money for gaskets!
Was gona pop the vavle cover and check the numbers on the heads but no money to go and but gaskets from auto zone.plus i dont think leaking would be very fun but ive also found to things that dont sound quite l03.First off as a friend noted and i didnt when i give it 25 to 50% throttle the low end torque is lifting the body up off the shocks and also when i first gotthe car we had not so much money for 93 so i bought the chepo $1.74 and the engine ran like crap i mean it ran BAD but on 93 the 2 dollar burn my mney up gas it ran GREAT!!! so i am thinking thats a little more proff but still the high commpression needs that higher octane but im geting the computer tuned by a friend soon so ill seen then thanks for your responses and all but shifty being a little less rude would also get more thanks but still thanks for your little sticky new all that from learnnig from my pops and engineshop in school but its great for newbies.

First , How much did you pay for this RS?
Second, Bad front struts would make the car seem like it has more than it should cause they can't control the lifting action or acceleration.
I run the cheap 87 octane gas without a problem.
The only way to tell if its a 350 is to look on the side of the block and look for the casting number. Best seen from under the car looking up with a flashlight. If its 627 (I think) than its not a 350.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. There is a 3 digit number on the bottom of the block on the drivers side get that number and post it and then we will know what it is. Also just because it ran like crap with the low octane fuel doesnt mean its a 350 it could be a 305 with a ton of compression. The guy that had the car before might of just had the originall 305 rebuilt with a little bit better cam and higher compression pistons and since it had a little more power he probably thought he could pass it off as a 350 thats what the guy that sold me my car did. Good Luck.
lol, the best one ive ever seen personally was an old Highway trooper car i went to check out. A 92 with RS badges but a 305 TPI motor, 140 mph speedo, posi, 4 wheel discs and a 5 speed. All in all a nice car except for the fact that the morons selling it had blown the motor and put in a 350 engine of unknow origin. They tried telling me it was a stock replacement motor but i tried mentioning to them that:
a) GM never offered a 350 w/ a 5 speed
b) Police package cars were never offered, i think, with a 350.
I even showed them the RPO code to no avail. Even though i knew i wasn't going to buy the car, i still took it for a test drive and i gotta say it still hauled ***.
sorry... thats a sad story.
BTW, welcome to the boards dude. As everyone else has said, its best to go with the 350 engine and stuff instead of the 305. Getting that kind of power out a 305 would be too much of a headache, IMO. Its not impossible, nothing is, but it would'nt be easy.

yeah all good points. But i think theres alot outweighing the 305 i mean the engine was taken out to paint the engine bay and i dont think anyone would take the motor out then put the stocker back in. its got the stock intake and tbi but hey some of us dont have enuf for a turn key so i guess he got a long block and there also a 160 thermo and high presure oil pump and new water pump and ratior in the engine. also its got stock headers and a broken smog pump on it lol. but i tryed geting under the car and it was way to low i was hiting my chest on the underside of the car so i guess i gota jack it up or remove the valve covers. but i payeed 3000 for the car i bought it cuase i loved the car i saw the car and melted.i mean he wanted 4000 but since hes a family friend we got it down to 3000 its got an almost perfect interor and year old shiney glossey paint he told me everything is orignal but a new spoiler and a 350 and i dont think a family friend would lie for no reason i mean he bought the car for 2000 painted it and put in a 350 and this ia a good paint job they painted the whole car even the engine bay and the inside of the doors.so im asumeing the engines been taken out its got the gm 1991 tela paint witha nice black stripe on the cowl i mean you would thinks its from the factory teal but the title says she was a blue car first. anywho i payed for the car not the motor i care about my car not about my engine if it has a 305 so what thats nothing i cant fix.i mean the engine is part of the car so i care aobut bolting on as much as i can but i mean if its 305 os what if its 350 its just iceing on the cake.also if you wana see it its in the south east members rides stickey post

A body guy I talked to told me they could do the engine bay without pulling it, but it just wouldn't turn out as well as if they did pull it. It could have gone either way. And there are plenty of people out there who just take there car to a service station when the motor blows and pay $2000 or so for a stock replacement L03.
Stock headers? I think not.

Alright ive went shoping on jegs and ive come up with a combo.
"Holley 670 tbi
World Products s/r torquer 305 heads
Flowmaster 3' exaust
Hooker Supercomp shortie headers
Edelbrock Performer Manifolds - Power Package
Easton Posi Rear 3.73 gears
Bfg Drag Radials
B&M Coverter Total:$3016.88 "
pluged it into a desktop dyno and it said i could get a solid 343 hp and 356 footpounds of torque. lol and yes i know yall think desktop dyno is a little off. has anyone read a newer hot rod the one with the gan turenos on the front they got the cars from the movie "starsky and hutch". yeah and well they did a test in there and they found it was only about 2hp off the real dyno sheat not bad eh? and i feel with this set up and many many many hours of tuneing and worknig my *** off for parts i could run a soild mid to low 13 whats your opinions?
