TBI Spacer

Does anyone know if a 1" TBI spacer will have any effect on performance? Thanks Gregg

No it won't. Well it will make your wallet lighter which could drop weight from your car. They are a pain. I have a .5" spacer and it sucks. Read the section about spacers in the sticky at the top. That should give you enough info on them.

I've got a 1" spacer and I did notice a difference. I noticed more low end but less upper rpm power. The increased plenum volume causes this.

I was curious as well as Turbo City offers a 1/2 in spacer that is open below TBI claiming that motor can pull from both sides of TBI.

Yes they do. I have it. It has siamesed runner. It was a waste of $60 bucks. I only use it now because it keeps my crappy open element selection off of my distributor. I am too poor and lazy to get a non-drop base element assembly.

I wondered as it appears there is no other option at this point for me to really get some HP out of what I have other then learn to make my own chip or have Ed Wright help me. I thought spacer idea sounded to much like hype and appreciate the advice. I'll save my money for other mods later, again thank you.

Save your money for chip work. You have no idea how much power can be had with chip work. No other mod should even be considered right now for you. Especially since I see you have a 350 TBI. You will be amazed.

I had only experienced one aftermarket chip which did little and I thought that is what the hype was about until I read articles on your sites such as the following:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ht=closed+loop

It's a little confusing, but exciting all in one. It seems a little expensive, but chip maker locally charges 350 dollars and other companies are around 200 dollars, probally half of what it would take to do it myself, from site above. Not sure how you can get a HP chip with out running vehicle under load, WOT and lap top.

My cam pushes system and it's only a (baby Cam) 212-218 .05 duration cam with 444 lift nothing close to HP Chevy Cam ZZ4 or 268-270 Duration Comp cam that some say they have used their selves. From what I read, it appears if you ever want to get into some higher HP and power their is no other choice but learn to do chips yourself.

Biggest challenge for me will be to find a descent reasonablly priced lap top, other then programming chip it's self. I was told there is a EPROM and EEPROM chip and that EEPROM was the chip to use. 350 has about 8060 miles on 4 bolt main 350 40 over HP FM Pistons with Pro Topline SR 1.94 Heads, ARP resized rods, balanced, March Pulleys, High Flow Cat, Flow master 40 Series using 3" pipe with dual 2.5 to exit. So, I guess I just put this chip issue off as long as I could and not very curious how it will run with the right combo.

Again, thanks for the picture as that spacer cost even more now! Sorry it did not work out for you and hope it's ok to post site above.

Yup thats how its done. However, there is part throttole tuning as well for those times when you are not at WOT. A wide Band 02 will get your WOT tune dialed in.

Are there any specific web sites that may carry a wide band O2 sensor because I am very interested and will search more of what advantages this does which I assume gives a better WOT more versatile then stock O2, not just a too lean or too rich reading how much to lean and how much to rich would be more accurate. Are they all that expensive 800 dollars or so?

A few searches should tell you which one is pretty decent. Some have advantages over others. You only need the ones that are in the 200 to 300 buck range. They will tell you your exact af ratio vs RPM under full load. Something your stock narrow band 02 could never do.
