Guys Running a carb intake with a TBI adapter Plate...

....what other mods did you have to do? Does your stock EGR bolt right up? Did you have to order a different one? Did you have to drill and tap any holes? What adapter plate are you using? Would you used this same setup again? I have many, many questions. I'm running a tahoe so hood clearance is not a huge issue.

Thanks for any advice!

PS I'm planning on going with a set of AFF 180 eventually, so I don't want to limit myself to the factory TBI/Performer TBI intakes.

Could you please elaborate on this? I though that single-plane intake manifolds were for high RPM use? I eventually want to throw afr 180 heads on this bad boy, but I can't afford it now. I have an LT1 cam, and want to keep my power range from idle to about 5500 RPMs. My current IM is leaking badly. I figured I'd use this as an opportunity to upgrade the factory unit!

I don't want to deal with drilling an tapping for sensors, brake booser, buying a new egr, etc. Does anyone know of an aftermarket intake that will work for my setup (see avatar) and keep the egr, etc...

How about compatibility issues?

I mean:

Heater hoses?
Brake booster?
Will my stock egr fit?
This engine will really never see anything above 5000 RPM. Additionally, I weigh 5250 lbs, not 3xxxlbs like most of you guys here. I need that low end to get moving!

Also I know nothing about carbs. Everyone says that carbs need a vac signal and TBIs don't? Are you talking about a particular location? I thought all TBIs were speed density?

I am really confused. I just want to improve my performance by switching Manifolds (Since I'll have the old one off anyway) and then bolt everying back up to the new manifold... I don't want to hunt for the right EGR, drill and tap holes... Is this possible without going to a made-for-TBI manifold?

Thanks for the link... I didn't realize that was a truck. I still think I've got about 1000 lbs on him though.

If you're around, you you think you could shed light on any of the above questions?

Thanks.
