Tbi with nitrous plate question???

Ok i wanted to now if a carb nitrouse plate will work fine ?

-manifold
-nitrous carb plate
-tbi too carb plate
-tbi

Will there be any problems with this type of set up??? The reson i
want to do it this way is because i already have the carb nitrous system. And want to install the system to my tbi.

I responded to your IM already, but for those who don't know.

I'm putting this exact setup on, as soon as the rest of the -AN fittings, and parts arrive. Since the spraybar goes length wise throught the plenum, I don't see a reason not to. I guess when i give it a try, I'll let everyone know how it goes.

The only issue I see with this is getting the correct fuel pressure to the spray bar, as the carb nitrous plate was designed for much lower fuel pressures than tbi. Either that or go with smaller jetting, but I think it would be much easier to go the fuel pressure route.

You might run into a problem with mixture, the TBI nitrous setups use a fuel/nitrous mix and if the carb setup only spays nitrous you might see a mixture problem which might be detrimental to you engine, so you might want to stick with the TBI setup with nitous, i had a Nitrous Works setup on mine, it worked great, but ran my engine a little warm but nothing that was to hot, but i removed it before i ruined my engine, or killed myself, but good luck!

Here is what I did. I called NOS, and asked what the jetting was for the the TBI plate. I just orded the fuel jets they gave me that matched the nitrous jets that came with the carb plate. Jets are about $7/peice. I ordered 3 (100, 125, 150), the carb plate already has the proper nitrous jets. Now, the price diffrence between the two plates, is more than $21. I am not hesitent of running it. If i was, I would not have spent the money.

Now, if i was buying new, I probably would have gone the TBI plate route. BUT I got the 4bbl nitrous kit for $100, with bottle, plate, noids, lines, switches, the works. Then i was able to use the rest of the money i would have spent to buy a new kit, to convert all the fuel system plumbing to braided steel, and -AN fittings. For me, this route was a win/win.

Dewey that sounds good, but I would be worried about the size of the spray bar itself. The TBI bar is much shorter than a carb bar, which may mean the jets might be too big.

what does the bar have to do with the size of the jets?

bigger bar= more spray holes. To make up for it you may have to use smaller jets.

yeah.

but the amount of nitrous and fuel entering the bar is controled by the jets.

So you're saying it doesn't matter how many holes the bar has?

right, it is the size of the jets. so the .047 nitrous jet is 100hp in the TBI kit, the cheater kit, or the powershot kit. So long holes in the bar are not the restriction.

same reason the same bar is good for 80hp-300hp, the jets are the portion that limits the amount of nitrous and fuel.

I'll bet the holes in the tbi kit are bigger, or they're simply spaced much closer together than the carb bar. There is no way 5 holes and 20 holes are going to distribute the same amount of nitrous/fuel.
