both i think from what ive read in the last week have almost equal flow potential when ported im not sure bout stock....but what do u have now center bolt valve covers/heads or perimeter cause if u go from one to the other your intake wont bolt up so id stay w/ what kind of heads u got as far as that part goes if both r free

the 081's are tpi 305 heads and are the ones you want. they have the later designed (86up)72* angle center two bolts while the 416's have the traditional 90* angle center two bolts.(this is what he was referring to about the intake not bolting up) they also have provisions for your centerbolt valve covers and the 416's are perimeter mount valve covers.
now, i'm looking for some 416's. you think your buddy would give them to me?

I have '93 RS and put the 416's on. I would not do it again. Go for the 081's. It matches up with your intake. It also matches up with an Edelbrock Performer TBI intake if you want to put one on later. The 416's will not be a direct bolt on.

I believe a few of the first '88 LO3 cars had 416 heads and some of the last of the '92 cars had 081 heads. These are very rare though since 99% of all LO3's had the 187's.
