Hey i was lookin around and have seen a few camaros for sale around here locally, and i do have a drag strip near by so i will be havin some fun with whichever one i buy. One i found in the paper was a 1989 Camaro Rs 305 TBI with 180,000km on it, 5 speed,well maintained, has flowmaster mufflers and a k&N filter on it, no other mods, all stock besides that. What should that run in the 1/4 mile with a decent driver?

 

nobody?? i was going to look at it tomorow, was hoping i would get a general idea of where i would be starting at when it comes to 1/4 times so i can slowly build up

 

a relatively stock lo3 5spd would run low 16's with a good driver.

 

Well this one would be my first 5 speed, i own a beretta right now but thats going to be my project car that i will slowly build up. So while i fab up parts for that car i will get a camaro and do some bolt ons.

 

My 89 RS is bone stock with the 5-speed, and has about 190K on the odometer. Having never been to the track before, my best run was 16.3 @ 84mph.

 

so i be at about the same starting point as i was with my beretta, two low 16 second cars yay

 

ok since i be starting out in the low 16's, what would be a good mod to do to the car that would bring it into the 15's thats under $500

 

look into the ultimate tbi mods...thats what i would do
