I bought some from Braswell Carburetion. A friend actually made a group purchase for the CrossFire guys and they were only $2 a piece! I think he had to buy 20, but of course everyone buys two at a time. Otherwise I think they're $4 or more a piece (actually I'm not even sure they sell in lots less than that.)
I can see if he still has some leftover.

I don't know if you can bore the TBI out to 2" or not, but Braswell can be found at http://www.braswell.com - look in their catalog. They have 1.81" and 2.00" + sizes, but nothing in between.

shut you mouth.
i need a shaft too. cuz i dont know how the hell im gona get those broken off blade screws out of it. i didnt know before taking apart my first tbi that the screws are welded on the tips. snapped the heads off of all of em. doh!!
its k, i got two more in perfect shape now.
and one other 454tbi on the car, that i will be taking off so that i can take it to the machine shop to have them anaylize if they can bore the 1 11/16's ones to the same exact specs. im almost sure the castings are exact except for the final machined bores and ridges. other than that. same. and another guy who posted somewhere else that you would hit the bearings. THERE ARE NO BEARINGS IN A TBI. so im gona try going to 2".
hey and thanks for that web info, i did find it anyway. they dont have any email address. but im just gona call em monday.

Tallboy it's unknown if a regular TBI unit can or can not be bored 2" as no one has officially tried that I know of. At worse case scenario welding on extra aluminum into the outer middle wall may be required, which would suck since that would cost even more money.
SNF Take a file or dremel and grind down that weld on your TB shaft, but leave enough to turn it. Then use a propane torch to heat up the rod. Since the screw uses a different metal type it should not expand at the same rate. Next pull out the pliers and turn that "nub" you left until that bastard screw is gone. One more step to go, pop a cold one and belch in victory. NOTE: I do not know if that will work, but it's worth a shot.
Next HWoods6617@aol.com might have some left over 2" flaps. I just ordered a set from him for the ultra low price of 6 bucks and it even includes new screws. woohoo
I'm interested in your end results, depending on how it goes I'll be doing this to mine too. So feel honored, your now a ginnie pig.

only one screw still has a nub, i ground the tips off to get the shaft out of the tb.
i will get a hold of that guy with the 2" plates/ otherwise, holley sells em, and the company above. im sure i can get some somwhere now. and i have no doubts whatsoever that a 1-11/16 tbi can go to 2" they are the same casting! besides thats only 5/32's on each side. or almost 1/8. there is plenty of metal there to do it.

My understanding is that you can only take the small TBI to 48MM which is just short of 2 inches. I think Pablo mentioned it on this board and I have confirmed it with TPIS and

Snf,I just saw the reply to my post a minute ago and just wanted to let you know that for the list price of the 454tb I bought a 350vortec engine out of a 96Yukon with 28K mi on it. I also have found 2 454tb's at about the used price range of 130 you listed. I might buy them both and put one up for auction.
