mine is the GM Performance Parts one, that has the "CHEVROLET" on it. i actually got it at Pep Boys for like 40 bucks, but it only came with the paper filter, so I got a K&N filter for like 35 bucks more.

Thank You! I like it. I can not wait for a cowl induction hood for that top flow lid to take full effect.

OK heres a Q:
I was goina to put one of those on MY stock 305 Tbi, but i notice when the car is cold it runs so much better than when its hot. i automatically assumed it was because of the warmer air entering the engine, so here the Q:
my car has the stock cold air intake thing that goes to the front of the hood, IF i added one of those open element filter setups to my car, wouldnt it suck alot more HOT AIR in, therefore causeing my car to move even SLOWER at operating temps??

slower, no because you would be sucking a LOT more warm air. instead of not enough at all cold air. your car runs better when cold for a variety of reasons. the computer is enriching the mix to warm it up, your tranny fluid is think and therefor shifts harder, the air that is coming into the engine is cold. but all tha changes. look at all the metal there \heating up the air coming in. you think that little thing at the front of your hood is getting a lot of cold air.

trust me, more warm is better.

LoL, why do people think those stock setups are "Cold Air Induction" Look at what is hooked up to that tiny little snorkel...a heat stove...something that brings hot air INTO the incoming air. Not very cold air coming off them headers. Plus, the thing is like 3 inches acoss and 1 inch high. That sucks a lot of air i bet.

I am going to put an open element but i have a question....what do i do with that metal hose that is connected to the air induction. Its not coming from the valve covers but i think its the headers or sometihng like that(its a metal plating next to the driver side rocker arm covering)....Sorry about the really bad explanation but i just got my car 3 months ago

Just take it off and forget about it, it just helps the engine run in VERY cold weather, and with you living in Miami you don't need it. Just make sure that any sensers that you have attached to the stock air cleaner you reinstall in the new cleaner, I had to drill 1 hole in mine to attach a senser.
