Emissions. . .and A.I.R

Hey, I've got a question for anyone who knows. . .I am putting some headers on my car. . .they ahve the O2 plug, but not the A.I.R plug. . .im not in a place where I need this little guy. . or any of my emissions. . .but my question is. . .I heard this simply blows air into the exhaust fumes. . .so will it really matter if it is hooked up or not? can I just let it sit around some place? And if I can't just let it hang around, what modifications do I need to make, in order to get around using it?

any suggestions?

thanks a lot!

air plug?

dunno about a plug

but had the headers had a.i.r. it would have a bunch of tubes sticking out of the primaries that would hook up to the hoses that come out of the divierter valve for the air pump. If youd go to the tech section of this website youd find there is an article on how to remove the A.I.R. pump and related equipment. Yes those tubes are for injecting air into the primaries. Mostly for a few minutes on startup to warm up the catalytic converter.

I got rid of all of the emissions crap on my '85 Z28 and it ran perfectly and never threw a code. I just plugged the emissions fittings in the exhaust manifolds with bolts purchased from a hardware store.

No, no sensors to sweat - though you will probably destroy your cat by not running air to it.

There won't be enough of a power gain to command your attention. It's done primarily to clean up the crap underhood.
