whats wrong is it tbi

I donot know what is wrong my idle is going up and down, i would say between 1000 to 700 when it idles. Is it because the computer can’t handle my new 350 with a Holley tbi unit or is something else wrong? Did you have this problem? and i have pluged all my hoses for my heater core and it is leaking when i run it it has a clamp on it but i did not know it would be under pressure still with out it hooked up to the radiator, does it have a pump in it because it still seems under pressure and i dont really know about that stuff yet.

Oh yea have you herd about the west Nile virus carried my mosquitoes, it think that they were up in new York and jersey well any ways it just happened to show up in my little town in Niceville in Florida. Many birds a cow and a boy in my town has died so far and they have a warning not to go out side during dark. Well i have to work on my car somehow and i got bitten my lots and lots of mosquitoes soo.. i have woke up at 11:30 and feel like my head i about to explode #1 symptom of it and my back hurts #2 symptom 3 fever not yet! oh well its 2 my time and still feel bad and if you don’t see me any more well..

Are you running a 350 chip? Wouldnt that have something to do with the injectors feeding enough gas into the car since it still thinks its a 305? Dunno, but I kind wished i had your problem instead of my problem of being slow (minus the west nile virus and all)

Your not suppose to plug the heater core lines but put a piece of pipe to run the one hose to the other so that pressure doesn't build up there.

I'll bet you aren't running rich but rather lean. I just recently went thru this on my 89 9c1 and it turned out to be a weak fuel pump was the cause of my troubles. It would hunt for the idle between 600-1000. Nearly stall at 600 then jump back up to 1000.

If the hunting idle is due to a weak fuel pump, would that explain why in the morning my car wants to idle like that? my Rpm will climb to about 1000 then fall down to around 400 or so, it acts like it wants to cut off then it raises the idle again. I replaced the IAC on it and still no avail.

sucks, huh? work in the day and roast and bake, work in the evening and feed the local mosquitos, or work at night and get frustrated because you have to balance a light along with your tools or cant find a socket when it rolls under the car.

ah i love cars.

Well, since it applies to the topic, do you think a just-starting-to-die fuel pump could cause this? Mine likes to start, run about 2 seconds, then die unless you mash the gas in time. Start it again and its just fine. It does this about 1 in 3 times you try and start it. No biggie, just makes me wonder a bit.
