i need diagrams!!! anyone?!?!?

I'm lookin for the ECM diagrams for a 1988 firebird w/ an L03(305ci) motor. I'm reworking into a malibu, and since this particluar year uses a different ecm than the others, I'm having trouble finding them. The Haynes manual i have is about worthless for diagrams. Anyone have any info that could help?? point me in a direction, show me some links, etc, anything.....

I've got a Helms manual at home that I could scan and email you but it may take me a couple of days to get it all done. What kind of time frame are you looking at and what exactly do you need pix of?

well, I don't need it extremely fast, a week or two would be perfect(too quickly?) I specifically need the ecm pinout and either a description of wires, or the actual schematic for each one. Since I'm gutting the factory harness to retrofit, I need to figure out which ones to leave, and which ones to remove. If you could help out, that would be awesome.

I'll check it out tonight and see how many pages we're talking about and post back here tomorrow.

cool, I'd appreciate it. I'm an EE by trade, and I've worked on GM stuff for about 10 yrs now, so any info I can give to you, just let me know. Thanks!

Well, if you want all of the good stuff we're looking at probably more than 30 pages. Since I'm not sure of exactly what you'll need I'm just going to scan it all in and let you go through it. The problem with the manual is there may be an entire page with six diagrams on it - but only one is applicable to what you're doing. For instance five of the six might deal with headlamp wiring - but the sixth one is a knock sensor diagram. Lemme know what ya think...

Hmmm..thats quite alot of pages. I wouldn't need alot of the chassis diagrams(like the headlights, etc.) But stuff that is directly related to the ECM, like knock sensor, map sensor, stuff like that. I've have some schematics for TPI and TBI (for trucks) that are about 6 pages, so I wouldn't think that there would be many more than that. If you'd like, I'll reply back with all of the sensors diagrams i think i would need. Would that help? I wouldn't expect you to scan all of those pages, that would take awhile!

Yeah, let me know which ones you need and I can narrow it down a bit.

OK, here's the basic stuff I need:
Map sensor diagram(to ecm)
Knock sensor to ecm
Injectors to ecm
TPS to ecm
Fuel pump circuit(from ECM/battery/relay)
Transmission circuit(700R4)
Coolant temp sensor to ecm
air temp sensor to ECM(if it has that one)
Ignition ciruit to battery and ECM/ESC
charging system
Idle Air control to ecm
Emissions control, AIR/EGR/Evap canister
Service engine soon lamp
Vehicle speed sensor and buffer.
ALDL circuit(may be included in some of the above)
Hope that's not too painful!

I spent about an hour last night scanning some in - 40ish pix and 8.5MB later... I've still got a couple more to do then I can either email them to you (if your account will take it) or burn them to CD and mail it to you, or post them on my website and let you download the ones you want. Got a preference?

wow, that's awesome. I would have to say if it's easier to place on your website, that would be preferred. I can download some large files from my e-mail, but there is a firewall here, and probably it would limit the files. If you can send them in blocks of < 2meg and it's easier than the website, then thats the best plan. Either way, I can retreive the info. My email is jscaborozi@gi.com. I appreciate this a ton!!!

Well, I finally got 'em all scanned in and on my site. Figures I have to use a dial up to get these uploaded - it's taken all damn morning.

Check out images 1-53 here: http://www.transamtemple.com/images/...ams/image1.jpg

Just change the number after "image" to get the next one. Hope this helps somebody,

Steve

Man, I owe you big. I really appreciate you taking the time to add those images to your website. If you need any info, just give me a shout(either on the message board, or on my e-mail, I left it a couple post back. I hope that other guys can also benefit from that(those w/ 88 cars).
