i plan on buying a 350 short block(rebuilt with good cam and pistons)then putting on some nice AFR heads or maybe the fast burn heads. now i need to know what would be the best intake manifold i could put in there to still let me pass smog in CA, and the best TBI unit that would bolt up to that intake. some prices and places to buy it would help alot. thanx

 

also i some people have told me it ould be a smart idea to get an adjustable fuel regulator. if so, is there a specific kind i should get?

 

well since u guys aren't helping some one told me a good combo. a rebuilt 350, with a desent cam, super ram intake, holley 670 TBI, Fast Burn Heads, and some good hooker or SLP headers. i dont really care if some of it is not emmissions legal as long as my car passes the sniffer. what you guys think about my combo and how much HP you think i could squeze out of that? thanx

 

How are you going to use a Super Ram intake with TBI? Just use the Holley TBI intake. It is already machined for use with the 2" throttle bores. Also, if you get an engine with Vortec heads, the is a TBI manifold for that, as well.

so what would u guys request on a good intake, tbi, and head combo.

 

vortec heads, vortec tbi intake, and a cam that will make power up into the 5500 rpm range. the cam will be a matter of taste mostly, but i would prolly go for an LT4 hot cam or something similar.

the ONLY aftermarket TBI intake that is legal in CA is the Edelbrock Performer TBI. If you want to get more power from it you can have it bored over for the 670 Holley intake. I doubt they could tell it from stock.

This aluminum small-block Vortec manifold was designed for maximum horsepower with throttle body fuel injection and EGR usage. The manifold will fit all Vortec design cylinder heads (P/N 12529093, 12558060, 12497186, and 12464298). Technical Notes: To use EGR, the gasses must be plumbed from the exhaust manifold into the intake manifold. Many exhaust manifolds have drilled and tapped holes that can be used to fabricate a tube. An example is the 1996 and later pickup truck with RPO L31 350 engine, which uses exhaust manifold P/N 12557828, EGR pipe P/N 10220275, and fitting P/N 12552329. That combination will fit this manifold for late model pickup trucks. Vacuum controlled EGR valve P/N 17052693 can be used on some models.
