Vortec Heads?

Will Vortec heads work with a TBI set up? Will it make some decent power?

I'm still in the process of tuning my new engine and it's working out decent so far.

Re: Vortec Heads?

Has worked for me for over 4 years. Awesome powerband. Only two downsides for me were piping EGR, and cost of the GM Performance intake. I have since done away witht he EGR and have a custom PROM burned for the heads, cam, and engine size changes.

Re: Vortec Heads?

works great. you just need a vortec style intake manifold. GM advertises them as a 20-40 horsepower gain over any earlier factory head. theyre basically LT1 heads without the reverse flow cooling. i have 60cc vortecs on my 406 with the performer rpm airgap intake

Re: Vortec Heads?

I was gonna say professional products sells a decent vortec carb manifold at a low cost. need an adapter plate. I would avoid the air gap style untless you drive in warm state. I am WI so that would be bad choice for me.

Re: Vortec Heads?

Vortec heads don't have heat risers anyway. So idk what difference it would make which intake is used.

Re: Vortec Heads?

A cold manifold is problematic with TBI fueling. Cold helps facilitate gas falling out of atomization. Not a problem when fully heat sunk...
