OUCH....I love the simplicity of TBI, but after having gone away from the TBI scene for a while, I forget just how slow these cars really are compared to what is out there now.
I took a bone stock 2008 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4.7 onto Ennis once and ran a 16.4 @ 82....287 CID and 5,500 lbs worth of truck on 20s. My 5.7 Hemi just ran a 9.57 @ 76 in the 1/8 @ 2,650 DA, corrects to 9.30s and 14.60s in the 1/4 with the stock heads, cam, intake, long tube headers, 3" duals, and PCM program.
I guess I am just hinting at a possible project I may soon undertake.
My brother and I have a line on a clean 91 RS TBI car that may get the 340ish HP 4.7 I have kicking around in my garage after my Hemi swap.
We may also put a single turbo on it.
I think the quickest 5spd TBI I have ever seen ran around a 15.7 @ 86 BONE STOCK.

It is funny comparing to what's out there now, I just got an '05 Altima 3.5 and that would've mauled my Camaro stock, and probably keep up with it now.
