Please help, so fed up with this car
I'm seriously considering junking this thing. It used to run fine, and now I can't get it to do more than crank. I changed cap and rotor, set the timing, replaced plugs and wires, it ran fine, then all of a sudden it just died. I haven't been able to start it since. One of my injector fuses was blown, so I replaced it, still nothing. I checked all my wires, ohm-tested my injectors, replaced the fuel filter, checked fuel pressure, it was good, checked my ignition coil, everything checks out... what on earth am I missing? The security system is working fine, checked all that out... what else is there? Somebody please help, i need this car to run, it's my daily driver, and if I can't get it on the road I'm gonna have to junk it and buy a new one... i'm sure it's an easy fix because it ran so well before, but I feel like i've checked/replaced everything and it's still not running... even if you just have random ideas, please throw them out here. I'm seriously desperate.

Did you take it somewhere to be tested to be sure?

so the car fired and ran after you changed the cap and rotor? and then died?
always remember. fuel. spark and air check first to see if you're getting fuel i assume you are since you said fuel pressure was good, then check spark you can pick up a spark plug tester at a local auto store or you can back yard mechanic it up and pull the plug and get your friend to test it against metal a rubber handled screwdriver works best for that.

See, that's the thing - my fuel pressure checked ok, but that's what i'm not getting... my plugs are sparking just fine. We can get it to start with starter fluid, but as soon as it burns through the starter fluid it dies.

I know you checked the pressure and the ohms but have you checked to see if the injectors are actually spraying? Also, is possible you may have too much moisture in your tank? It happens. I had a durango that did that once in a while during the winter.

Probably bad ignition control module. I know you had it tested. screw those tests. It controls injector firing as well as spark. And i have seen them miss either one or both. replace it. Its going to go out eventually anyway. Throw in a new one and if it fixes it good. if it doesnt. You have a spare throw it in your trunk area for someday when it goes out.

injector fuse blew for a reason-sounds like there is a
wiring or ECM problem, check for battery voltage at the
injectors-they are supplied with voltage with the ignition
on and the ECM grounds the other side to actuate them.
