Hedman Headers

A simple question i don't know but I've been interested in these Hedman Headers from SummitRacing and I wonder if I could replace my exhaust manifolds. But I dont know if it would effect my emissions or is a waste.

If you got the Hedmans you'd probably have to weld the AIR tubes on in order to make them emissions compliant, but if your state doesn't check thoroughly you'll be fine without them. If you have an EFI car you will have to weld in an O2 bung though- or you could get collector connectors with an O2 bung already welded in

But the ones with AIR tubes cost a good amount more- it's far cheaper to fab your own AIR system if you have a friend that's good with a welder and don't live in California.

All the AIR tubes do is supply additional air to the cat during cold starts, so they're pretty worthless

Re: Hedman Headers

Doesn't matter if they don't look under the hood. I know in MD they just hook up the sniffer and if you pass you're good to go

Re: Hedman Headers

Hooker 2055's have them. You should also consider going to a 3" cat and cat back too. Uncork some power.

Yeah that's the thing with the Headmans, the only Y-pipe they make that fits the headers has a 3 inch single out, so you have to either dump it before the axle or cut the Y-pipe and weld a 3 inch pipe in place of the 2.5 inch pipe
