I looked around in the forums and had no luck with what i was looking for or either i overlooked it. Sorry if this has been asked already.

I have a 91 rs with a 305 v-8 TBI engine. A few months ago, I had to replace the thermostat, only to find out the the intake manifold was cracked right up under the thermostat housing. At the time, i took the one on my RS off and I went and got a used manifold from the junk yard with the intention of immediate replacement. that was a few months ago, and I am just now getting around to installing the manifold. I can not remember where every thing goes on the manifold, and I have some stud bolts and other components I do not remember where they go. I was wondering if there was any one with a photo or a diagram that could provide me some insight on where every thing is located from brackets to where the stud bolts go. I can not find any good pics on the internet.

thanks for the quick reply, do you happen to know what numbers 74 and 75 are and for the bracket number 68, where exactly does that get bolted in at?

 

see post #2 link for additional part numbers and descriptions, the engine lift #68 if equipted are the first two bolt holes on the drivers side of the intake.

 

thanks for the help, and one last question, Number 33 the bracket, is that the bracket that holds the coil or something else, and if it is something else, where does it get bolted to thanks again.

 

also is there anything else besides the engine lift bracket that gets bolted in with the intake bolts

Alright, I got the intake on and torqued down. Afterwards it left me with two questions. First the intake manifold gasket (the one installed on the head side and not the front and back) sticks out a little in the middle on each side, I lined it with the bolt holes and put it in the direction it stated to do, Is it normal for it to be like this. Second question, since it is torqed down, if i remove 2 bolts on the back side will i have to loosen all the bolts to torque them all down. reason being is that the valve covers need to be put on and a bracket on the manifold is in the way. I have an idea for an alternate way to get it on, but I think moving the bracket will be the straight forward way.

 

you will be able to see the gaskets sticking up onto the head surface. the 4 inner bolts need to have sealant on them I like to use liquid teflon. You will be fine removing 2 bolts and reinstalling them.

 

Thanks, that makes me feel better now knowing that it is right. I was told to use the blue thread sealant since water will be flowing around is that the same as what you are using?
