Where do you-all find LT-1 cams?

I guess the subject says it all: I'm having a heck of a time finding
one. Researching a buildup of a TBI 327, I've heard and read over and over that they're just right for moderate buildups on injected motors, that they're a dime a dozen, pretty much falling out of the sky. But the local boneyards say "we want to part out a whole motor", the local speed shops say "don't have any - but we can sell you a nice Comp cam..." and the local machine shops say "Duh, wazza ell tee one?"

Help me out guys! I'm in central California, somewhat near Sacramento. Options! Suggestions! I'm dying here!

Scotty

I'm sure this has been asked before, but since the LT-1 uses Optispark, wouldn't the LT-1 cam be missing the distributor gear?

the LT1 cam is a standard style of grind. it just has a longer dowl pin on the front of it to drive the optispark. it is easy to grind down with a bench grinder or hand held grinder/dremel. when you take out the stock cam you will see the diff in the sizes and just gridn it to match.

Would the LT-1 cam work in a '93 truck tbi 350?

Looking for a little more cam to go with my open air element and Edelbrock shorty headers.
Thanks,
SC

Duh, I thought about it for awhile and realized that the distributor gear is still needed to drive the oil pump in the LT-1.

I was in camaroz28.com's chat room and some guy said he had one, so I bought it off him. Put a post on their for-sale section, there's a ton of them out there. I paid $35 shipped for it (96 SS).
