ooOOooo, that problem...
yep... thank your y-pipe being too close for that. Get some heat sheilding, that should help. The heat makes the solenoid bind up if im not mistaken.

Get a heat shield or a mini high torque starter.

Simply put: heat equals resistance.
I'm having good success with the Moroso heat plate that bolts on the starter.
...also my Vette in fact comes from the factory with a starter heat wrap.
...so theres a couple of types to chose from.
Sometimes the heat is to much for both, I mean watch any form of racing, and a lot of them boys have problems restarting on a hot-hot day.

Ah, so thats why. I was thinking of something like that but didn't know how to explain. Thanks guys. Do you think I should go and replace the starter or try a heat shield 1st?? I think it has done that stuff to me a few times without being hot.

A temporary fix should be giving the starter a couple hits with a metal object (hammer, wrench...etc) while a buddy turns it over.. shaking things up inside usually does the trick when starters are on their way out.

Talking about starters, I'm on my third in one week. I get the car up to opperating temp and thats all she wrote! I even have the remote solenoid that both Summit and Jegs sells along with heat wrap! I used the Duralast from Autozone, lifetime warrantee.

I had my mechanic test it all day today and he can't find out whats with it, and it won't do the BS for him. Its so stupid, I think its the original starter too.
