Will a V6 electric fan cool a V8?

I found quite a few V6 camaros/firebirds at the junk yard with electric fans, and I was wondering if a V6 electric fan would cool my V8? My buddy has an 89 RS V6 with an electric fan and that thing moves alot of air. If not, is there any car that I could pull 1 (or 2) fans from and use?

i'd guess the radiator is differant and not the fan, if either are differant. i think a duel fan set up off a k car will fit on a f body and work.

Yeah the radiator has the upper and lower hoses reversed on the v-6...the fans should work though.

If they worked on a V8 they'ed be called V8 fans.

They work just fine. I'm using one in my V8. Keeps it nice and cool. No probs at all in 90 deg. heat.

Yup. Just got the ports and cap on backwards. Or I would have used it.

Don't mind this clearly uneducated answer.

ANY fan that moves the required amount of air and can be mounted to your radiator will work.
