it is a squarebore, i believe.
and it will be on a 400 sbc with the motown 220cc heads with a nice big cam

thanks

Sorry I don't have the answer, but do you know what kind of pain in the *** you are getting yourself into. Duals are a pain to tune.

I'd suggest buying stock in oil or gas companies, cause you're going to make them happy.

didn't you read the replies you got the last time you ask about this? i believe several carbs were mentioned. call 1-800-345-4545 and tell them what intake you have and what size carbs you want.

yes, i have reviewed that last thread that i have started. sorry for the double questions.

but my main concern is that the way the holley bowls are situated they may not clear each other.

I guess that is my main concern. and that 390 holley suggestion sounds promising. is that 390 CFM? or is that an arbitrary number.

and i take it i am looking for center hung bowls right? does holley make a set of carbs for a dual quad setup?

also can anybody point me in the direction of some literature on dual quads?

also, tuning would be greatly made easier if i were to have a good O2 sensor, correct?

another question is, if i were to custom fabricate my own throttle linkage, i can get one pair of butterflies open while crusing, correct? and i am not worried about the "complexities" with such a linkage, i am studying to be a mechanical engineer by the way, and this sort of stuff is right up my alley.

thanks for your info

Putting it together is no big deal. The pain in the *** is keeping them tuned and working together.

yep 390 is the cfm, not sure if they're center hung or not, my 450 isn't, but there's no reason you couldn't buy a junk carb at a swap meet and swap to center hung bowls if that's what you want.

Mount them sidewise so the float bowls are on the sides. Still makes it hard to tune since air mixture screws are now on the inside.

Ditch the dual 4's for a nice single.

Why don't you just mount 2 TBI's on it.

i would mount them sideways, but there is a wall in there that seperates the banks....

the tbi would bolt up to a squarebore intake? this could be interesting...

to do the TBI, would i be able to splice in wires in the same wiring harness to run a second TBI unit?

with a dual TBI setup, would i be able to get power, i always read people bashing TBI

This TBI idea is pretty interesting stephen, i should look into it some more.

They should sell adaptor plates to mount it to a spreadbore. If not, it wouldn't take much to make them.

I have no idea on how to wire up 2 TBIs but I've seen it done on a BBC so I know it's possible. I think it might have been a kit from JET.

are stock TBI units two barrel or four?

holley makes a kit that has a 4 bbl style TBI and it bolts up to a square bore intake.
