Is that a serpentine belt running the alternator??? that's a new one me. mine is similar but all of mine are "v"belts (I'd post a pic but I upgraded to XP and my scanner's driver no longer works and the company that makes it website is down)

Don't think there's anything special about that alternator belt. It routes from the alternator, around the H2O pump pulley (in the middle), down around the crank pulley, and then back to the alternator.

the smog is easy and goes from the smog pump around the front slot in the H2O pulley only.

The power steering pump belt is different in the picture than on my car. so don't want to mix you up. But...mine goes around the PS pump pulley and then around the crank pulley(only) in the far back slot.

Do not use the middle crank pulley spot for the PS pump, or your H2O pump pulley will hit it. Use the back one

I think the middle one is for the AC belt, but I have no AC belt on my car. Have a new compressor, but no belt. Doesn't make much sense I know, but I can't figure out how to remove the AC system easily, and don't want to put a belt on it because of all teh expenses that come with AC.

Hope this makes sense, and helps.

By the way, this routing is for a 305 4bbl.

This is how my V-Belts are routed, which is how they would be routed on the original 305 4-barrel.
