Going crazy...

Got the cooling issues sorted out- thanks guys. Now on to a little more serious (?) issue.. heh..

The car is running rough - the tach is jumpy, im cruising around the block under 1500, the tack jumps back and forth 0-1500, and when you gas it. its not a linear sweep, its back and forth - i replaced the TFI module - same issue. Ideas?

383, MSD 6a+boost retard, 42# injectors, old hypertech chip called for 30#'ers.. (getting fixed soon.. chip should be here tuesday..). It was running great the other day tho - ideas?!

Anyone that can figure this out and have it work. i will send you beer money!

I had a problem exactly like this. After the car became warm the tach would jump around. The car would jerk as if the ignition would quickly shut off, and then come back on. Took me forever to find the problem. It was a loose ground wire on the back of my passenger side cylinder head. If I were you I would check the grounds on the heads.

Also might be a bad pickup coil. You would need to remove the distributer and take off the gear/shaft to remove it.

I would unhook the MSD unit and try running it the stock way. But I still think you have a loose wire somewhere, remember the ground wires have to be on their tight.
