Show me pics of your spark plug wire looms

I've got some el-cheapo chrome wire looms that run horizontally alongside my valve covers. They're half broken, and I cut the **** out of my hands every time I have to change my plugs. I want a different set. I've had my eye on the vertical set from Made4U Products, but I don't know how well they would work with a small block valve cover that only has 2 bolts.

Anybody have any suggestions? I'd really like a vertical kit like this one instead of the usual horizontal kit, although I suppose it may be possible to bend the tabs on the horizontal style and make them vertical.

I've got perimiter-bolt covers, not centerbolt, but thanks just the same.

I don't suggest the made-for-yous on perimiter bolt covers. You need to get one that's one piece, otherwise the two bolts do a crappy job of holding it in place.

I have the made-for-yous on my centerbolts and love them. Maybe you should just get centerbolt heads.

Then I'd have to settle for ugly valve covers.

I wonder if I can take a set of the 1-piece jobs like I've got now, but bend the tabs and swap sides so that they sit up in a vertical fashion. I suppose if the tabs weren't strong enough, I could always make some stronger ones. Just what I need, more customization projects.

Ouch, that was a low blow!

I'd try bending the tabs. You could buy the mad for you set and whip up a custom bracket to attach it to.

Have you checked the wire Loom sets in Summit Racing or in the Jeg's catalogs? They have a couple different styles you can use for those perimeter style valve covers. I have a set similar to the pic and they work well and give good clearance.

Those are what I've got now and I cut the **** out of my hands when I change my plugs. Instead of the horizontal style like those, I want vertical ones that hug the valve covers. Like I mentioned above, I might try bending the tabs up and reversing sides to see what I get.

It's the Holley Stealth Ram. Look on the TPI board for all the info you'll ever want or need.

Check the TPI board! It's been hashed out 2,000 times over there.

It doesn't have EGR, but there's no reason that it can't burn as clean as any other MPFI system, so it depends on the smog ***** in your area.

there ya go, friend.

vertical made 4 you wire looms on perimiter-bolt heads.

The set comes with a 2-hole, a 3-hole, and a 4-hole separator for each side, as well as two 4-hole wire separators without a stud.

I just used a 2-hole and a 4-hole on the valve covers, and a 4-hole farther up for neatness.

SMasterson,
i was just comparing our pics, and it seems that yours is lacking the rat's nest of wiring mine has. Are you using the stock ecm to run your SR, or Holley's computer? also, what else did you remove?

Thanks slickrock55. That looks good! 88 427 Camaro, I got a red x. Your webhost must be blocked here at work. I'll take a look tonight.
