I would check either your distributor and rotor, or have your alternator checked out.
I had a car doing the same thing, and it was my points; grant it, that car was 28 years old too. But when I did buy my current Camaro, the rotor and cap looked like sh*t. All the points where worn down or chipped. And the metal piece on my rotor, just fell off when I took it off.

Clean the throttle body and IAC port with carb cleaner. You will have to do this at least once a year, but I do mine 2 or 3 times and it always seems to be dirty.
Ps you think you could hook me up on some of those "Free Mods" cause I'm kinda broke

Yea I would like to know how to properly clean the IAC port and throttle body as well. I'm always afraid of screwing something up.
There are some easy free mods to do. You can open the air box on your car, do a throttle body bypass, or put some K&N filters in.

Check out Vader's response in the "Here's a Wierd Problem" in the Tech/General Engine posts. Everything you ever wanted or didn't want to know he covered. A while back he responded to my post on a similar problem and it worked for me.
Does it die immediately when you stop, or does it bog a bit first after you've stopped? If engine RPM decreases as your speed decreases, you might have a problem with your torque converter lock-up.
If it's something that is much less consistant, and doesn't do it everytime you stop, it might be your ignition pick-up coil. Of course, once the car dies, it's usually hard to get it started again. - John '89 L98
