casting #'s for L69 heads?

casting #'s for L69 heads?

what are the casting numbers for the L69 305 HO heads? i tried searching and didnt find anything... or is there a website anyone knows of that shows head casting numbers for different motors?

14014416, same as LG4; or the # that ends in 081 87-up (Monte Carlo SS)

www.mortec.com has casting #s although it doesn't list them just exactly that way

ooooo ok thanks LG4 and L69 heads are the same right? i remember reading somewhere that they are different... i thought it was a rumor... is it?

sounds good to me, but one more thing, i saw 416 casting heads on eBay and they say 64cc? is the seller just wrong? or are their 58cc and 64cc versions..?

My expereinced tells me that every 305 cylinder head is SPEC'ED at 58cc. Some are undoubtedly a little bigger or a little smaller in reality, but I don't think any of them are as big as 64cc measured volume.

I've never measured a 305 head at 64cc myself, or even heard of one made.

I know they put 60cc chambers on 305's i saw one on a 70's 305 in the junkyard.

Yeah there are some outta the late 70's, also used on the amazing 267 V8's.

Some shops like to take the 416 castings and machine them for 2.02 intakes and 1.60 exhausts. They then unshroud them around the area where the wall is closests to the valves. Not sure but the unshrouding may add the additional volume so they possibly may be closer to 64cc after that.

my 416 castings came from a 1987 monte carlo ss with the L69.

my porting kit arrived, just waiting for a chance to start working on the car.
