can i leave my engine without antifreeze in it?

i'm swapping my LT1 intake on this weekend but i dont have a knock sensor yet so i want to leave the antifreeze drained after i change the intake so i can put the knock sensor in later without wasting coolant. will it harm the radiator or block if there's no antifreeze in them while my car is in storage for the winter?

It won't hurt anything, as long as there's no water in it anywhere.

I do it every winter to my boat. (350 Chevy eng.)
No problem.
Just plug the holes after it's completely dry.
Keeps critters from making their homes in your cooling sys.
