Headlights (both) don't go down!

I've already searched like crazy, and got no help for this.

I've got my 86 Firebird almost running again. The car's been off the road for a year, now. Last I knew, the headlight motors worked fine, but today they don't work. Yes, BOTH do the same exact thing, where BOTH used to work fine. I can manually crank the headlights down, and when I hit the switch, they both go up. However, hit the switch again and all I hear is a click and the lights go off. What can cause this? And if possible, include pictures of the actual components/culprits. Diagrams confuse the heck out of me.

Read this topic:

Then do a search in the electrical section of the board. There are many good suggestion there.

Thanks, I read that already. But everybody keeps saying to look for fuseable links and such, and I look where they say and don't find them... Pics are what I really need.

I think the problem is with your headlight switch itself.
I had simmilar problems and when I mashed the switch hard enough or cycled it a few times the lights would go down.

Been there, done that, no go. It's not the switch, cuz the headlights go on and off fine otherwise, and they go up fine.

you could remove the trim panel and test the switch but if you got all the way back there and it wasnt the switch you might as well put another one in anyway.

In all honesty I think a little electronic cleaner spray in there would give you some indication.
