@%^& pressed in studs!!!
Thaught it was odd that my #6 intake rocker was clacking so i redid my lash and took it out for a spin. Ran real nice for about 10 mins and by the time i got home, the idle was erratic and slightly choppy and sure enough, the #6 rocker was clacking again
. G0D I HATE THESE MOTHER ****ING CRAPPY *** DUMPY WORTHLESS USELESS PULL OUT STUDS!!!!!
ok, i feel better now....
Think my new cam could have had anything to do with this? Even though its pretty weak maybe it was too much for the springs? I cant see them pressing solid with the swizzle stick cam i have but with these crappy 993 heads, anything seems possible.

I've never pulled one out but I have heard that ifyou have binding in the valve train they can work out.
More likely the adjustment nut is backing off or....... I shudder to say it...... you've got a lobe on it's way out.

no.. doubt its the lobe because it ran pretty good for a few minutes and it was quiet after i adjusted it and the engine is almost new so the nuts arnt worn. Its probably due to the fact that i have a lead foot and the engine sees hard use and (realativly) high rpms. At least thats the conclusion ive come to...

ok... not mad anymore...
Went out to check everything out. The rocker arm didnt feel like it was getting ready to fall off like it did earlier. Was so loose it was getting ready to slide of the valve. Pretty sure i tightened it correctly the first time i did the lash b/c the ticking gradually grew in amplitude untill i could hear it in the car. found the stud hight to be within 3/1000ths of an inch of the two closest studs. So, its safe to say that that stud is either a)not moving or b)moving at exacly the same rate as the ones around it. I think a) is more likely. measured the lift of the lobe at the pushrod and found that that too, was fine. I found that to be within .6% of the adv. lift. Check taht off. Even though the bolt felt like it took the same toqrue to cause the bolt to move as the others when unloaded, the best thing i can say is that the bolt was backing out. Ill install jamb nuts on all the rockers and see where it goes from there. could be the lifter but the lifter apeared to still be pumped up. Ill double check that tommorow to make sure i dont have the infamous "collapsed lifter" syndrom. Thanks for all the replies.
oh, BTW, what thread are the locking nuts on the studs?
