I am working on a 1993 eagle talon 1.8 and can't get the thing to start. Some of you guys helped me with this last week. The fuel pump doesn't seem to be kicking on and there is no spark coming from the distributor. I am beginning to think that the PCM is causing this. I have replaced the fuel pump and distributor. On these cars you can't just replace the ignition module or coil seperately. You have to replace all of it.

Don't know if the PCM would control the fuel pump, I would doubt it. Does the car have a relay for the pump? Every FI car I've owned does the same "prime" routine when the key is turned on.
You replaced the dist. and still get no spark? U'd say that the hot wire goint to it is broken somwhere, or the ignition switch isn't working properly.
But then again I have no experiance with eagles, so take it for what its worth.

Do any of you guys know the name of the sensor that shuts the fuel system off if it's been in a collision? I have heard the name of this before but can't think of it.

I think that is what it is. I have heard of ppl manually flipping the inerta switch to mess with some one's car. I think you have to hit it with a hammer or something though to flip it.

Ford uses the fuel pump cutoff switch. It is a manual reset. I'm guessing that Misubishi might too, but I'm not sure, and don't know where it would be located. I like the part about resetting the car with a hammer, though...
Can you get the pump to run by manually operating the relay or jumpering power to the pump? mOn the last one of those that I did, I removed the relay cover to manually close the contacts for pressure testing.
As for the PCM killing the ignition, yes. The PCM operates the ignition, so it can certainly prevent it from operating, too. Is there some sort of anti-theft device on the car? No fuel pump - no ignition, sounds a lot like VATS to me.

Vader, I think that there is a vats of some sort on there. I didn't think of that. I am gonna try to get a pcm from the salvage yard tomorrow and try it anyway.
