power estimation

idonno where this goes as far as boards, but about how much power will this make?

92 305 with tbi

rebuilt top end with crane cams compucam (about 2 over) and valve train, and ported heads

underdrive pullies

custom cold air intake

hypertech thermotech chip and thermostat

lightweight flywheel

hooker competition headers, y-pipe, no cat, flowmaster muffler

new plugs, wires, and ingition stuff

will this get me near 300hp??

also... what can i do as far as throttle body and intake upgrades other than go carb or mess with all the tpi wiring?

Swap in a 350 or spend Big Bucks on the 305 and still
not get the same results as with a 350. The 305 TBI is not the best engine to start with in the first place. Also why is 300hp a magic number??

that has got to suck.

you could just wait til you are out on your own, and then mod it to yoru hearts content.

and 300HP is a tall order on a TBI 305. i am doing heads/cam/intake/exaust and hoping for 225 :-(

i am not saying it can't be done. it is just not something that a factory TBI 305 will do without some major modifcations.

but at 225HP you will have probably 300lbs/ft or more. which a honda will NEVER have.

Let me see stock your car came with 170hp. It has a tiny cam and the worst production heads gm has ever used. You are changing the heads and the cam and only expect to gain 55hp? you must be using a tiny non roller cam...

well, i was talking 225 to the tires, which is 250 or so crank.

and i dont' want a huge cam, i would still like a fairly smooth idle.

but regardless, i would like to see 300HP 305 TBIs - do you have one?

**** i put all together about $1300 into my camaro's 355, 350 .30 over, cam install, listers, ported heads, and an edelbrock performer intake and 600cfm carb, and it puts out 213 and 307 at the wheels, through the slightly built auto, 700R4

PS
Ill sell you my engine, complete for $2500, lol

but these # look pretty good.

4250 356.2 288.2

What would be wrong with that?

Why people insist on choking a performance engine with FI is beyond me......

Change out those stock heads man that you got on that car. They are peices of ****...although good for some low end torque...for all out power and and to have atcual top end you'll need new heads. I threw on some Monte Carlo SS heads and Damn huge difference. According to many hp estimators (simple and also pretty advanced ones), also the G-tech pro thing, racing againts other cars, etc. Seems like my motor at the moment has about 240-260hp...which is sadly...about the hp of a stock L98 *slaps forehead* haha...and ofcourse alot less torque then a L98.
