valve cover gaskets
I just got new rubber valve cover gaskets for my engine but I was wondering if I need to use any RTV to seal them with, or do I just put them on and bolt them down to the torque specs in the book. Please help I need to know as soon as possible.

What heads & gaskets & VCs?
If they're the Fel-Pro rubber ones or something like that, use gorilla snot (3M 8001 or 8008). If they're the factory style rubber ones, use some white lithium grease.

I just mounted some Fel-Pro Rubber gaskets.
I used RTV Ultra Black to seal/glue the gaskets to the valve covers. (I let it set up over night)
I then only used Vasoline to seal the cover (head side of the gasket) to the heads.

The rubber valve cover gaskets have little nipples ( either 4 or 6) which help the gaskets stay inplace. In the past, I have used a very little amount to tack them to the valve cover. This keeps teh gasket from falling out.
