It won't fit if you have your stock hood, unless you have a realy thin air cleaner. It is a problem, and yes it sucks, give it a try though, but be careful

He is running a th350 tranny so he used an 82-83 driveshaft so it would be the correct length.

Won't fit.

Get rid of that air cleaner, it is a big performance loser. Besides the danger of it getting sucked into the engine or catching fire, it is highly restrictive; it's strictly a street-rodder play-pretty, not a go-fast piece.

Yes you are wrong about the driveshaft length and modle years; the 200 trans was used only in 82. 83 up used the 700. 83-2002 driveshafts are all the same length.

My 1983 shop manual has a section for the 200 auto trans...
my 1984 shop manual does not...

my 1983 camaro brochure shows that there are 4 transmissions available for 1983...
a 4 spd manual
a 5 spd manual
a 3 spd auto
and a 4 spd auto

the 200 tranny was available in 1983... unless they screwed up on all this stuff...

(the 200 trans was only offered in sport coupe and berlinetta in 1983)
