removing emissions junk?

I have an 83 camaro that originally had a 5.0 h.o., now it has a zz3 crate motor, but it has all the emissions junk and quadra jet. So what do I need to get rid of it all? Thanks.

I live in assachusetts, and they do not test for emissions on 83s or before. so i don't have to pass emissions. Later.

First, pull the AIR lines out of your manifolds and plug them, then pull the egr and the attached valve on the exaust, or modify it to make it stay open. Pull the smog pump, canister, and the cat, and you should be good to go.

Will this give me any performance gains? I don't believe that I have egr any more. Where would it be? Will my quadrajet work still? Thanks.

Loony-burg huh? You should bring that puppy down to the civic center on Friday nights. There are a few 3rd gens there and my soon to be T-ram'd 92 will be there in a few weeks.

I've been thinking of removing the smog crap from my car as well. The EGR should bolt in to your intake manifold. You can machine a small piece of aluminum to fit over it - at least that's what I did...

I think I will probably go to that friday. I might have seen you there a couple of weeks ago. I didn't bring my car in, but I was hanging out with a guy who has a white 96 z28 with a vortec supercharger on it for a while.

And I was right. I have no egr, Just a plate where it should be.

Hey, Now that I think of it, Mike 25th, I may have met you before. When the car show was near the registry, I went one night and talked about your 69 firebird sounding funny because one of your rockers was messed up. Anyway Thats that.
