car won't start, TPI fuel rail ****?
ok, i feel really stupid
Is the **** of the back of the passanger side fuel rail on TPI susposed to be screw all the way down, or will that cut off the flow of fuel, for some reason after changing pushrods, my car won't start, and i noticed this **** is screw all the down.
Thanks
JP

im not sure but if it was like that before and the car ran i would have to say its probably not your problem.. a little more info on your no start would be helpful.. do you have spark? whats your fuel pressure reading? what does it do when you try to start it? does it turn over? are you sure you properly torqued the rockers after installing the pushrods? if not your valves may not be opening and closing properly if at all...a little more info and im sure we can get to the bottom of it!

Ok, i don't have the equiptment to check fuel pressure, but i may be able to borrow a gauge, i havn't checked spark, what is the best way to do this?, the engine turns over fine, it just never fires. I torqued the rockers to 11 lb ft like chilton suggested. Am i missing something? Anything i possibly fogot to reconnect, i checked all around but couldn't find any unplugged wires. BTW i don't know if that **** was like that before i started the work. I think there is a ghost under my hood that messes with all my settings. Could it be a really clogged fuel filter?
Thanks

did you rotate the engine to the proper points to torque the rockers or did you torque em down all at the same time without turning the engine at all? a simple way to check spark (not the most accurate but it works) pull a plug wire, stick a screw driver in the end of it and hold it over a grounded metal part of the car (radiator support works fine) and have someone crank it over and see if it arc's, hold it with a tiny air gap maybe half a cm or cm large.....

ok first thing i would do is remove both valve covers and back them all off slightly so there is a little side to side movement in them.. now this isnt the most accurate way to adjust valve lash but it works.. with the valve covers off start the engine.. the valves will be noisey as all hell slowly go over each one until it quiets it self then turn it an extra 1/4th - 1/2 turn.. do all the valves like this until it sounds good. make sure you cover your headers or manifolds with somethin or you will have a buncha smoke everywhere from the oil pouring out of the heads.. hopefully the rockers wernt too tight, otherwise you may have wiped out some cam lobes.. after you get the covers off though this should be fairly easy to determine once you start it after loosing the rockers.. if you have a pushrod(s) that isnt moving up and down or is barley moving up and down its time for a new cam

possibly depending on if the cam was damaged or not.. if the cam was only partially damaged it may still start but only on a few cylinders.. best of luck.. keep us informed on your progress any more questions just ask.. btw that iroc is beautiful i wish my car looked half as nice
