Spark Plugs - How to get out??

I am trying to change the spark plugs in a 92 camaro 305 with a/c and AIR system. I think I can get the left (drivers) side out from the top and probably the right front one from the top but how do I get the rest of the out? From the bottom. Please tell me how you have done this. Thanks.

You can get all of them out from the top. It is not the easiest in the world to get the rear ones but it is doable. I suggest getting the socket onto the plug first then fishing a long handle ratchet onto the socket. Break the plug loose and from there you should be able to take it out with your fingers and the plug socket. Installation is the reverse. Watch out for the heat shields, they can give you some nice cuts...

I get all I can from up top then get the rest of them from under the car, my hands are to big to get all of them from up top.

as said above it can be done from the top, its not the funnist thing to do and takes a hella long time, you will cut your arms up and depending on how long you do it after you have started the car you will burn you forearms, that is assuming you can get to all of the plugs

when i did it form the top i ended up breaking the ceramic off of one of the plugs and had to go buy a new one, it was not fun

the best way to do it is to jack your car up and put it on stands or ramps, you can easily get to all of the plugs from the bottom with almost no effort, the hardest ones are the #1 and #2 cylinders, but it can be done fairly easily, those two plugs are also the easiest to get from the top if you prefer

so it takes less then a quater of the time to do from the bottom then the top, but the decision is yours

This may sound pathetic, but the first time I changed plugs on my car I spent about 3 hrs. I was able to get two from the top, and the rest from the bottom. I don't have small hands, and so some of the plug boots I could barely get the tips of my fingers to. Kinda hard to pull them off when you can't grab them. When I was done, my hands looked like they had been stuck in a blender. Anyway, its SO much easier changing plugs after I got headers than with the manifolds.

It's not pathetic it took you 3 hours. The first time I did the plugs on my car it took even longer as I was totally unfamiliar with my motor.

Now, I can get everything from above and it takes about an hour to do plugs & wires.

it took about 3 hours the first time, havent tried lately but when i did the wires from the bottom it only took an hour or less so it should only take about 20 to 30 min to do theplugs next time, a lot less then 3 hours

I myself take out the the first 3 on the drivers from the top and the rest from the bottom. Did this for the first time yesterday and it took a lil less than an hour. It wasn't a hard battle, though i did loose some skin.

THe first time I did plugs it took a few hours but I did all of them from the top. Not too much fun. Now it takes less time but I have Hooker LTs. Still not much fun, but hey, it needs to be done!!

i can get all of the drivers side ones from the top; the passenger side is a bitch because of all the A/C crap... it does help when you take out all the emissions stuff though
