Final Plee! Please help!
I still haven't found the problem with my car. I changed the rotor last week and it was very, very bad. I also need to know the symtoms of a clogged catalytic converter. I think mine is just about there. I started the car yesterday and it died very quickly. Then I can't get it to start again without holding the pedal to the floor. When it finally starts I rev the engine up (which is running very shaky and rough) and smoke pours out the back of my car. I will take it to a family mechanic in 2 days. I hope he can help. l8r

If you fill us in on any codes your getting or what color smoke and then the previous things that have been touched on the motor, we could give you a much better idea of what the problem is!

It's Fuel injected. (LO3) The smoke is sometimes a light gray color. My emc is not throwing any codes at all. Sometimes it smells the fuel or exhaust but that's about it.

Just a crap shoot but it sounds like your fuel injectors are leaking down. This gives symtoms of flooding with heavy smoke on start up. It is very common and it could be time to have them rebuilt. Check with http://www.cruzinperformance.com or email rich@cruzinperformance.com for assistance in having them rebuilt and balanced if you find this may be the case.

Hey, Mike is here! What's up?
SB,
If you suspect the converter is plugging, connect a vacuum guage to the intake and watch manifold vacuum as the engine is started. If vacuum steadily decreases, you may have a plugging converter or other exhaust restriction.

Buenos tacos Vader. Long time no "here". I just got moved to New Mexico a month back and about the time I wanted to start posting again the boards were gone. I'm glad you're still here.
