That 3/4" hose that goes from the driver's side exhaust manifold to the passenger side can be made longer and routed over the fan guard.

Can you email me the original pic? That one's really hard to see.

That's pretty crowded alright. I'd remove the air pump, replace the qjet with a good holley or edebrock carb and drop in an HEI distributor. That would clean up the engine compartment farily well.

I assume you don't have emissions checks in Tenn?? Or just no visual check - just the "sniffer"?

Something to think about....I got rid of a lot of my smog stuff, but I basically still run the air pump and it's piped directly to the CAT air tube. I still have the carbon canister also.

You still need to get plates every year.

How about this, if your car is broke buy a new one and give me the broke one.

Sounds silly doesn't it?

Fix the A/C if it doesn't work. Especially if you live in the south.

Looks like somebody tore every hose and wire off of it, then put them all back without paying any attention to how they're designed to be routed. So you've got a giant blob of "steel wool" looking stuff, instead of all of that laying down in the places it's supposed to live.

Don't go ripping stuff off to make your engine compartment "look" better. A car that won't pass emissions, or that doesn't work right, or that measures its fuel consumption in gallons per mile instead of miles per gallon, doesn't "look" very good either.

A better thing to do would be to get pics from people who have the same setup (computer-controlled carb) and carefully re-route all your hoses and wires correctly using them as an example.

well i have ttops and there for dont need the a/c and last summer it was like 95-100+ almost everyday and i still managed with no a/c and only one power window working at the time.

and plus i dont car for the a/c in the car anyway. and plus the rubber lines where dryrotted, so i think if i had a leak in the system why spend money on the a/c which gets pretty damn expensive to replace stuff and have it either converted or repaced with r12.
