What length pushrods do I need?
I have a roller block but Im switching to a hydraulic camshaft. I cannot find a good roller with the lift and specs I want so Im gonna order a lunati camshaft from work tomorrow.
I have the cam, double roller timing chain, and lifters but what length puhsrods do I need? I think I need 7.790'' ones but im not sure. Can someone help?

Hey, I would stick with the roller cam. You can find them in almost any spec if you know where to look. I dont know the length. You should probably get an adjustable pushrod so you can measure what length you need when you get the cam.

I cant find any rollers with around .460 lift unless I would get a lt1 or lt4 cam or something from GM. Id rather get a lunati cam from work.
Lunati has a few cams I could use that are roller but we can't get them at advance.

Is there a reason you are looking for something that small? What rpm range are you wanting? Remember a roller cam will usually have more lift for the same amount of duration. Duration determines the rpm range more than lift. More lift is usually good.

Im looking for something with .460'' lift because I have stock heads. Im looking for around 230 degrees duration at .050''. And and RPM range of about 1500-5500
Are you at least replacing the valvesprings? If so I would go ahead and get a roller cam that matches the rpm range you want. What heads do you have by the way? I honestly wouldnt want to use the stock springs no matter what cam I was running.

Is there any particular reason you don't want an LT1 or an LT4 cam, but you're willing to change to a flat tappet cam with the similar specs?

I can get good deals on the flat tappet cams plus the lift is similar but the cams Im looking at have more duration.
My stock springs only have 6k miles on them. I think they should be ok for a low lift cam like im looking for.

You didnt answer on what type of heads you had. The springs may be ok. Do you have a stall? If you are looking at around 230 duration you may need it(or at least be better off with it). Also, that may be getting a bit on the large side for stock heads even if the lift isnt very high. You dont want to mismatch you cam and heads or you will not have the power you should up high or down low. If the rpm range for that cam really is 1500-5500 it may be ok, but it seems a little off to me.
