14101128 vette heads

These are the earlier vette heads before the raised d exhaust port type.
Would they fit my 88 L98 engine? Do they have centre bolt valve covers and will all the accessories bolt up?

Thanks

Simon

They will bolt to your block. Accessory holes are provided in all the correct locations. They are the older style perimeter bolt rocker covers, and 90° intake flange bolt holes in all locations. Your '88 intake my have clearance issuse with the four center bolts, even with clearance hole elongation.

Thanks Vader. From the picture below it looks like the heads have centre bolt valve covers. Are you certain they are perimeter?
Have you any idea how much aluminium heads weigh so I can calculate postage costs?

Thanks

Simon

I'm trying to add a little power to my car and havent much money. I was thinking a set of vette heads which I could port and a zz4 cam may be an option. But due to high shipping costs to the UK do you think I should just buy the cam and work on my stock heads?
I think I need to order the following parts also valve springs, retainers, gasket set (should I order a vette tpi set if the heads are alloy?), screw in rocker arm studs if I stick with iron heads. Can you think of anything else? Are the stock valve locks OK? Do I need shims for the springs?

Thank you

Simon

Simon, those might be the 86-87 run of heads I've heard about. Not sure how they're different from the #113's....anyone?

I think the only difference is exhaust ports.
Can anyone confirm they have centre bolt valve covers?

I found out iron heads weigh 44 lb and aluminium are 19 lb each. Shipping is $90 4 week delivery time.

Those do appear to be centre bolt heads, yes. By the cast # they are 86-87 Aluminum 58cc angle plug heads. Perimiter bolts heads have holes around the outside along the gasket ledge. Those can be fun to yes headers with due to the angle plugs.

Thanks for confirming what I thought. I have SLP 1 5/8 headers I'll have to search if vette heads with angle plugs are OK. Not having the raised exhaust ports they should match the headers better.
