there are 3 cables..

one goes to the gas pedal

one is the tranny TV cable

one is for the cruise control.

you can see the gas pedal one going into the fire wall

the thin cable one that goes into a little connector and then goes down to the rear lower pass side of the engine is the tranny cable

the cruise control one goes around the engine compartment onto the cruise control controller...... you can trace it by following it with your eyes.

what one is missing?

that cabal is why your trany is acting up it tells your tranny when to shift cuz of how far your gas ped. gose up and down so yes you need that.

what type of transmission needs a kickdown cable? i'm running a 4L60E... in other posts i heard that without the kickdown when you stomp the gas the engine merely gradually climbs rather than jetting off. with my 350 it'll sometimes jet off but mostly give me a gradual climb... could this kickdown cable be my issue? if so.. then where to i connect this cable on my transmission?

thanks guys

im like 90% sure that the 4L60E is completely computer controled.. so there is no need for a kickdown cable.. the computer just looks at what the TPS says.

what you can do is use a programmer and tell the computer where you want your shiftpoints to be and how firm...

well i feel really stupid because the cable missing is my cruise control cable and i dont have cruise control lol so that makes sense but my tranny is still messing up. I was told to adjust the tv cable by pressing a button and moving the throttle to WOT but i couldnt find the button to press. My tranny has been messed up for awhile any suggestions would be sweet. thanks

You are correct. That is what the E is for, "electonic".

Sniper, is your transmission shifting too late, too early, or what? We need details.

the transmission seems ok... i even got a custom chip programmed where he helped out the shift points. its behind a 350 which is being dogged down by a stock 5.7 TBI, although currently the manafold is waiting to be bored out monday and i've got a 454 TBI waiting to go on.

my problem is that when i punch the gas she doesn't jet off... just a gradual climb. yet sometimes (maybe when its running open loop? yet it should mostly always be running open loop..) it'll give a good kick in the *** and jet off, even squirting the tires at 30mhp when punched, but it'll only do it every once and a while... its werid. i'd like it to happen all the time.

i by the B4C in your name, i assume you have TPI.
i only have TBI, otherwise, i would take a pic of exactly what you would see..

basicly, look at the cable where it mounts to the bracket....there is a big black plastic piece there.. on it is a metal tab. push the tab in with a screwdriver, back of a pair of pliers, a small stick or whatever... while holding it down, push the little piece back.. if you were looking at the cable itself, from the throttle body, following the metal cable back until it goes into the first plastic "tube" with teeth on it, thats what you push back....

so hold the button, push that back, then get in the car, and slowly push the gas to the floor. the cable should pull the "tube" back out a little bit. thats the factory setting.
