Building 377 Need Advise

I will be using my existing 350 block. Block does not need to be bored. I have Lunati Forged 5.7 Rods. Standard SpeedPro Forged -6.1CC Flat With 4 Relief to help with LPE 219 Cam. All main studs and head studs, Clevite TriMetal Bearings. Question is. What 383 crank? I was going to get an Eagle Cast but people said it does not balance right. Lunati is way over my budget. I was thinking maybe a Eagle Forged but do not know. Any good cranks under a grand I could use. 1 piece rear. Thanks

Won't be able to stroke it with your current pistons...may want to to rethink your budget.

Well, look at where your current pistons are at TDC in the block...now add about .252inches (3.48 stroke to 3.75 stroke) and you'll get the idea.

Can ya say "smack"

You need to look at head volume, etc, and piston manufacturer spec to et you close, than measure it all up.

But, I'm willing to bet someone has the combo already and can get you where you need to be.

Good luck...ya know you're probably going to have to do some clearancing too?

Yup. I looked at a cola crank but it requires a 5.85 rod. I'm all confused on this crap lol this is my first engine build.

unless you have someone that knows what they're doing helping you i'd consider sticking to a stock strokes. like was said you missed on the pistons. stay away from scat parts, eagle is good ,lunati is great. 5.7 rods or 6 shoulkd allow you to use internal balance crank, 5.56 and you'll be external and need dampner nad flywheel. there are a lot of differant parts out there you can assemble and end up with the same cubic inch, it just a matter of how much extra work and expense you go to to get there. have you measured the holes or just going by looks? also you might want to rethink the studs, you won't really need them and if you ever have a problem there's a very good change you won't get a head off with the engine in the car

Since I have the whole motor apart, I always wanted a stroker and I said why would I rebuild the L98 back to normal when I can but a bradnew one for 1100 from sdpc2000. The cost of good pistons, machine shop work considering if I needed an align hone, boring and so on, and all the extras would be aournd 900 probebly. For 200 more I'd get brand new.

Do a search. I've posted the actual deck heights, calculation methods, stock specs of various rods & pistons, etc. etc. that you need in order to figure out such things, about a hundred times. Search for message text 9.025 and my user name.

I am talking about a 377 in the first post. You can also do a 377 with doing a 383 but not going 30 over.
